family vacation, Lake Lure, NC, new trip ideas, mountain vacations, happy hourAbout 5:30 p.m. is my favorite time of day. The sun is starting to sink. The day is waning. At the lake house we’re renting, everybody but me is jumping into the water and shouting out dares.

I’m dying to join them, to jump into the cool lake after this hot day of horseback riding and mountain climbing. But before I go, I thought you might enjoy this recipe for margaritas, just like the ones I’m whipping up for Daddy Rooster and me.

Quick and Delicious Margaritas

1 12-oz can of frozen Minute Maid Limeade

Pour limeade into a pretty pitcher. Now use empty can for the following measurements:

3 cans cold water

1 can 100% Puro Agave El Espolon Tequila Blanco (or your fave tequila)

1/2 can rum

1/2-1 can orange juice or grapefruit juice, depending on your taste

Mix well. Pour over crushed ice and serve!

I’m carrying glasses down to the lake right now! Gotta go!
